Update: HGSU-UAW Contract Renewal Negotiations

Planning for a Possible HGSU-UAW Strike

As Provost Garber shared yesterday with the community, contract renewal negotiations with the Harvard Graduate Student Union-United Auto Workers (HGSU-UAW) are ongoing. Last week, the University put forward its most recent proposal for an increase of approximately $12 million (or 9%) over the next three years in compensation and benefits (including dental insurance) above the levels in the current contract.... Update: Contract Extension through August 31, 2021

With negotiations well underway, the University is pleased to learn that the Harvard Graduate Student Union - United Auto Workers (HGSU-UAW) has accepted our offer to temporarily extend the current contract that expired on June 30. We remain committed to reaching an agreement that addresses the University’s and HGSU-UAW’s priorities. The University will continue to negotiate in good faith, both at the main-table and within several small working groups, and looks forward to future bargaining sessions.
